Boundary Layer Cloud Test IOP

4 August 2003 - 12 September 2003

Lead Scientist: William Shaw

Observatory: NSA (North Slope of Alaska)

Surface flux instrumentation and a sodar was deployed in advance of the anticipated summer 2004 Boundary Layer Cloud IOP in order to verify data communications and the proper function of the equipment in the North Slope environment. We also took advantage of routine soundings at Barrow to conduct a preliminary analysis of the relationship between surface fluxes and the coupling between the surface and low-level stratus.
