Register now to learn more about proposing an ARM mobile deployment

Editor’s note (November 16, 2022): The recording of the field campaign processes webinar is available for viewing now.

The Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) user facility is accepting preliminary proposals for field campaigns that require the deployment of an ARM Mobile Facility. ARM’s three mobile facilities are designed to operate in any environment to collect atmospheric and climate data in under-sampled regions. Proposed deployments for this year’s call must be within the United States or one of its territories, and priority will be given to deployments that focus on urban regions.

Researchers interested in proposing for the current call or a future opportunity can learn about ARM’s field campaign processes during an hourlong webinar at 2 p.m. Eastern time November 9, 2022. Registration is now open for the Zoom webinar, which will be led by Jim Mather, director of ARM; Nicki Hickmon, ARM’s associate director for operations; and Heath Powers, the site manager for the first and second ARM Mobile Facilities.

The webinar will provide an overview of the capabilities of the ARM Mobile Facility, the mobile facility proposal process, and roles and responsibilities associated with mobile facility deployments. Ample time will be provided for questions and discussion.

ARM’s call for mobile facility proposals will be open until December 19, 2022. This solicitation is for deployments beginning in late 2024 or 2025. More information about the current call can be found in this ARM article.

Register for the webinar.
